About Us
American Ladders and Scaffolds, Inc. was started by the Prior family in a small warehouse located in Glastonbury, Connecticut. They have grown to be one of the World's largest suppliers of ladders, scaffolds and truck equipment. With multiple locations and distribution warehouses throughout the country they are able to supply customers anywhere, anytime. The one thing contractor's like best about American Ladders is that they have what you need, when you need it. They stock over 5,000 ladders and scaffolds and hundreds of truck racks, van shelves & storage boxes. ALS carries over 400,000 different products and ships them to customers around the world. They offer many different services such as training classes on scaffolding, ladders and fall protection. They offer scaffold set-up and dismantling, van shelving installation, truck rack and box installation, ladder inspections, and delivery everywhere, everyday.
The owners, Kevin Prior and Jamie Prior, are both Scaffold Industry Association Certified Instructor's with over 22 years of experience in the industry. They both hold certifications as a "competent person" for frame scaffold inspections and use. Kevin has a bachelor's degree in Business Marketing and an associates degree in Criminal Justice. Jamie has a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. The Prior brothers teach classes to contractor's around the state on ladder safety, scaffold regulations and fall protection awareness. Both Kevin and Jamie are on safety committees for national builder and contractor organizations. They work closely with state and federal agencies working to advise on training and compliance issues.
